POWERPOINT AI
In this step-by-step tutorial, learn how you can exponentially improve your PowerPoint skills using AI or artificial intelligence. Instantly makeover your slides, become a better speaker and presenter, and make your slides accessible to people throughout the world with just a few clicks and basic refinements.
AI POWERED DESIGNER
- Open PowerPoint and open the deck you want AI to improve.
- On the Home tab, click the Designer button on the ribbon to open up the Designer pane that makes recommendations based on the content in the slides.
- Look through the Design Ideas and click the option you like to make over your slide.
- Clicking into Designer again for the same slide will make new recommendations for your slide based on your first recommendation to make for a consistent look for the deck.
- Go through slide by slide in your deck and try out Designer to pick the best options to improve your slides.
CAMEO & LIVE VIDEO
You can use PowerPoint Cameo to add a camera feed into your presentation. More details on how to use Cameo in the full length Cameo video here:
- Open PowerPoint and open the slide you want to add your Cameo video to.
- Click the Cameo button on the Insert tab of the ribbon to include your camera video feed.
OPEN AI AND POWERPOINT
You can use Open AI and PowerPoint to make more compelling slides from text heavy slides to summarize them into something compelling for a slideshow.
- Open PowerPoint and open a slide that you want Open AI to summarize. In this case, I have a slide with a wall of text.
- Open https://platform.openai.com/playground and paste in the text into the editor. Preface the text with what you want OpenAI to help summarize the text with, in this case “Summarize the text into 3 bullet points:”
- Select Submit.
- See the recommended text with three concise bullet points.
- Open PowerPoint back up.
- Paste the bullet points into PowerPoint in place of the wall of text.
AI PRESENTATION COACH
You can use PowerPoint on the Web to get great real-time coaching on your speaking and presentation skills.
- Visit powerpoint.new
- Login with your Microsoft account.
- Load in a presentation or just use the default blank slides.
- Click the “Slide Show” menu in the ribbon.
- Click the “Rehearse with Coach” button.
- You can select the option to have it give feedback on body language by toggling that option on in the drop down menu.

- This launches the full screen presentation mode. Click the “Start Rehearsing” option.
- Start talking and you can see the feedback in real time.
- Press Escape when you are complete recording.
- At completion, you will get a full report on your presentation skills.
POWERPOINT SUBTITLES
You can use AI to create PowerPoint subtitles to make your presentations more accessible.
- Visit powerpoint.new
- Login with your Microsoft account.
- Load in a presentation or just use the default blank slides.
- Click the “Slide Show” menu in the ribbon.
- Click the “Always use Subtitles” dropdown.
- Choose the spoken language, in my case, I’ll choose English
- You can also choose the subtitle language, which doesn’t have to be the language you are speaking in.
- Choose the location of the subtitles (Bottom, Top, Below Slide or Above Slide). I’ll select Bottom.
- Click “From Beginning” to launch your presentation.
- Move mouse to bottom left hand corner of the screen and select the 5th control from the left to show the subtitles.
- Now at the bottom of the slide you can see the subtitles as you are speaking in the language you chose.
