How to Control Your Android Phone or iPhone on Windows PC for FREE

In this step-by-step tutorial, learn how you can send and receive text messages on a Windows PC using either an iPhone or an Android Phone. Windows includes an app called Your Phone, but it only works well with Samsung devices. In this video, you’ll learn how to use the Mobile Connect app, which is free, and it works on all PCs and phone types. With Mobile Connect, you can send and receive text messages, view phone notifications, make phone calls, download pictures and videos from your phone to your PC, mirror your phone onto your PC, and even control your phone from your PC.

• How To Send Text Messages on Windows PC
  1. Install Dell Mobile Connect driver on your PC.
     1. Visit the website here: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-…
        1. Click the blue download button.
        2. Open the installer.
        3. Click Install and let it install the driver.
  2. Install Dell Mobile Connect application through the Microsoft Store.
     1. Open the Microsoft Store
     2. Search for “Dell Mobile Connect”
     3. Find the “Dell Mobile Connect 3.3” application and install the application.
        
        • If the install option is not available follow the steps below:
          1. Update the registry to make the Dell Mobile Connect 3.3 application compatible with your PC.
             1. Go to task bar and click Search
             2. Click Run and enter.
             3. In the Run dialog, enter “regedit” to open the Registry Editor
             4. Type in the location “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Store”
             5. In the StoreContentModifier, right click the option and select Modify.
             6. Modify the value to Dell_Xps
                1. The reason we are updating this value is that we need the application to match this value for the Dell Mobile Connect application to work.
          2. Reset Microsoft Store to take into account the registry changes we made
             1. Go to task bar and click Search
             2. Click Run and enter.
             3. In the Run dialog, enter “Wsreset.exe” to reset your Windows Store. Select Okay.
             4. Restart your computer.
          3. Open up the Microsoft Store and search for the Dell Mobile Connect 3.3 application
          4. You should now see the option to Install the application
  3. Launch Mobile Connect application on your PC
     • Install the Dell Mobile Connect 3.3 application
     • Launch the application
  4. Connect your Phone to your PC using the QR code on your Phone.
     • Pair your phone with your PC using the steps in the wizard.
  5. Open the Dell Mobile Connect application on your PC to see the options to access your Phone from your PC, including sending text messages.
