How to Screen Record on Laptop (2024)

Did you know that you already have a built-in tool for screen recording on your Windows laptop? Today, I’ll show you how to screen record effortlessly using the Snipping Tool that’s already installed. No extra software required!

In this video, you’ll learn how to:

  • Use the Windows shortcut (Windows + Shift + R) to open the Snipping Tool.
  • Select specific areas or the entire screen for recording.
  • Turn your microphone on/off and record system audio.
  • Start, pause, and stop your recording.
  • Save your screen recordings as an MP4.
  • Edit your recordings using Clipchamp, a free video editor from Microsoft.

The Snipping Tool is surprisingly powerful for screen recording, and I’ll walk you through all the key features you need to get started. Give it a try and let me know in the comments if you found this helpful!
